Buying Guide
What is the right size?
The right size for your artwork depends on the wall space you are trying to fill. As a guideline, a horizontal artwork should take up roughly 50-60% of the available wall space, and a vertical piece around 40-50%.
For example, if you were hanging a vertical artwork above a 200cm couch then an 80-100cm height piece would look best.
If you have a particular size in mind, please contact us and we can provide a custom piece just for you.
How long will my artwork last?
The short answer is, for a long, long time.
The longer answer is that our artworks are printed and framed using archival methods and materials. And they are covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
Which simply means that if you love one of our artworks the first time you see it, you're going to love it for generations to come.
What is your 100% Satisfaction Guarantee?
We offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on all of our Fine Art Prints.
Our Metal Prints are printed on high quality ChromaLuxe panels with a professional seven colour printer, delivering the widest colour gamut possible. The thick coating on the aluminium makes your metal print scratch, stain and chemical resistant, as well as waterproof. Together with the quality dyes we use, the image is deeply suspended into the coating, making it last for generations. Like any photograph your metal print is best kept out of direct sunlight.
Our DIY Prints are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, the world’s leading fine art paper, using a professional twelve colour printer. While the prints are rated to last to last for over 80 years, the longevity will ultimately be affected by how you frame the print and whether you use archival framing methods.
If you are not 100% delighted with your prints then contact us and we will arrange for them to be returned, replaced or refunded.
If you are not happy, we are not happy.
What framing options are available?
We offer three framing options: Ready to Hang, Art Box and Tasmanian Oak.
Our Ready to Hang frames appear to float around 1.25cm off the wall for an effective contemporary look. This classic and popular option is the most economical way to display your metal prints. The print is expertly finished with smooth edges and rubber bumpers, and comes with an inbuilt hanging system.
Our Art Box frames provide the ultimate modern look and edge protection for your metal print. The fine edge surrounds your metal print which sits inside our custom moulding with a small 7mm gap in-between. The frame is approximately 3cm deep and comes in Black or White aluminium, with an adjustable wire hanging system on the back.
Our Tasmanian Oak frames deliver a Scandinavian inspired style that is modern and minimalist. The frames are sustainably managed Australian smooth raw hardwood timber that adds a high-end natural warmth to compliment all metal print surfaces. The frame is 35mm deep from the wall, has a 7mm gap between the metal print edge and the moulding, and comes with an adjustable wire hanging system on the back.
Which frame looks the best?
We recommend selecting your frame based on two main factors.
Firstly, choose a frame that complements the colours in the artwork. Our Tasmanian Oak frames tend to work well with warm and earthy pieces (i.e. with yellow and reddish hues). A black Art Box frame adds contrast for lighter artworks, and vice versa for darker prints.
Secondly, consider the room the artwork will be displayed in. Many homes have neutral tones and timber flooring which means that raw oak frames work well (our most popular frame). Light and neutral spaces are often best suited to a white Art Box frame.
Or just pick whichever framing option you like the most!
How do you hang a metal print?
Our Ready to Hang frames are supplied with an aluminium hanging system attached to the back.
There are two styles of hangers depending on the size of your print. For smaller prints there is a rigid, lightweight backing board with a keyhole hanger at the top for secure hanging. For larger prints we custom make an aluminium welded backing frame, which ensures that the print always stays flat and secure.
Both styles will give your print the appearance of floating 1.25cm from the wall and the hangers are always kept far enough from the edges so as not to be visible from the front.
Our Art Box and Tasmanian Oak frames are supplied with an adjustable wire hanging system on the back.
When hanging your artwork on a plaster wall, we recommend using either plasterboard screws or wall plugs. You may also want to check that there is a stud where you’re about to hang your print to ensure that the plasterboard is able to hold the weight of the artwork.
